When trying to anchor objects to lath and plaster walls, typical plastic anchors wont work. The method involves nailing 1-inch wide strips of wooden lath to open wall studs and covering them with three layers of wet plaster. Hanging something on a plaster wall is a little different than hanging on drywall walls. Lath and plaster was a popular interior wall construction technique prior to the 1940s.
